What sets Avalanche apart is its innovation derived from the natural onyx stone look. The transparency of the surface and its usability as a lighting unit make it a unique addition to the market. With its long veins, Avalanche stays ahead of its competitors and perfectly aligns with the latest trends in design.
Quartz engineered stones have become essential components for kitchens, bathrooms, and wall & floor coverings. Avalanche takes it a step further by offering users the exclusivity of a lightened atmosphere through a transparent engineered quartz stone. This eco-friendly and sustainable piece of art contains recycled crystal quartz, glass, and water from its own polishing process, all powered by energy from renewable sources.
Technical specifications of Avalanche include its chemical formulation, which includes recycled quartz, glass, and resin combined to form a compact slab shape through vibro-comprehension under a vacuum press. The result is a healthy, hygienic, and transparent lighting surface. Produced by Belenco using the latest high technology engineered stone fully automatic robotic production lines, Avalanche slabs are 330cm long, 165cm wide, and 2cm thick.
Creating Avalanche involved the natural quartz minerals and resin being composed in mixers. The mixture is then transported directly to the distribution unit, where the vein effect unit gives it a marble-like pattern. The mixture is then pressed under vacuum in a vibration press, resulting in slabs that are 310cm long, 152cm wide, and 20cm thick. After curing in the oven, the slabs are polished with diamond abrasives to give them a higher gloss finish. Quality control ensures that the glossy surfaces are face-to-face when bundled and transported to clients.
The Avalanche Project started in 2020 at Belenco's research and development laboratory pilot plant and went into production the same year. It was exhibited to the market in 2021 and has since become a popular choice, particularly in the USA.
Avalanche is not only practical and user-friendly but also highly efficient. As a quartz surface, it is hygienic, antibacterial, and has strong scratch resistance. Its non-porous nature ensures no water absorption, and it exhibits high chemical resistance. With a long life cycle and high impact resistance, the only necessary change in the upcoming years would be the lighting source. Avalanche will remain shiny and new, just like the first day it was installed.
Avalanche faced several challenges during its creation. However, its durability is one of its greatest strengths, thanks to the quartz mineral, one of the hardest minerals after diamond. With 90% recycled quartz content, Avalanche boasts superior properties in terms of structure, surface durability, scratch and acid resistance, and strength, surpassing onyx, granite, and marble. The vein pattern design is sustainable in every slab due to the robotic process, whereas natural stones' patterns change with each block cut.
Avalanche's beauty and innovation lie in its natural onyx stone look. The transparency of the quartz surface and its usability as a lighting unit make it a new and unique addition to the market. Believed to enhance brand recognition among end-users, Avalanche stays ahead of its competitors with its onyx resemblance and long vein design.
Avalanche has been recognized for its excellence and innovation, receiving the Iron A' Design Award in 2021 in the Manufacturing and Processing Machinery Design category. This prestigious award is given to well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. Respected for integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics, Avalanche contributes to a better world by providing fulfillment and positive feelings.
